Pemagatshel meaning “Blissful Land of the Lotus”, is located in the southeastern part of Bhutan. The district is well known for the production of Jaling (Trumpet) and hand weaving gho and kira.

Like other  districts, Pemagatshel has many pilgrimage sites and community festivals. The district is rich in its biodiversity and nature-based resources.

It has high potential in cultural, handicraft and dairy products.
